No. Flats developed under the CURE scheme are intended for residential use by eligible low-income and homeless families. Beneficiaries cannot immediately sell, lease, or transfer the allotted flat. A mandatory lock-in period applies to prevent misuse or unauthorised transfer of the property.
Under the Standard Indiramma Indlu model, eligible landless and homeless families may be provided a free residential plot, subject to land availability and applicable government guidelines. A 250-square-yard plot is specifically applicable to eligible Telangana Movement Activists, subject to the relevant government provisions.
No. The ₹5 lakh construction assistance is released in stages rather than as a single lump-sum payment. The installments are linked to construction progress and are released to the beneficiary’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) after the required verification.
The four construction stages are:
- Stage 1: Initial sanction and foundation-level progress
- Stage 2: Plinth-level completion
- Stage 3: Roof/slab-level completion
- Stage 4: Final finishing and completion
A beneficiary selected for a CURE housing unit through the applicable allotment process is required to contribute towards the beneficiary’s share of the housing cost. As per the stated contribution structure, the total beneficiary contribution is ₹6 lakh , payable in installments. The initial installment and payment deadline are subject to the applicable government allotment terms.
Living in a rented house or as part of a joint family does not by itself prevent an applicant from applying. Eligibility depends on the applicant’s family status, ownership of a permanent house, ration-card details, income criteria and other applicable conditions. The specific nuclear family must meet the scheme’s eligibility requirements.
The housing benefit is generally linked to the eligible beneficiary household, with preference for registering or sanctioning the benefit in the woman’s name as part of the government’s women-focused housing approach.
